Secondary School Mathematics teacher for 38 years – 14 years with the GDE and 24 years with the IEB. Close to 3 500 students, ranging from Grade 8 to Grade 12, have been taught during this time, ensuring an overview of fundamental concepts required across the grades. Since retiring from full-time teaching at the end of 2024, I have been teaching online one-on-one lessons.

In addition to being a teacher, I was also Subject Head of Mathematics for 25 years at the three schools where I taught. I marked Grade 12 NSC examinations every year, for both DBE and IEB, with both P1 and P2 experience, being appointed Senior Marker for the past 15 years.

Teaching methods during my career developed from chalkboard to whiteboard, from overhead projector to LED projector… then online teaching during the pandemic of 2020/2021, culminating in blended and hybrid teaching.

Teaching Mathematics is my passion – with the focus being on achieving potential, not only distinction; seeing the “light bulb” moments of understanding; building confidence and self-determination through consistent effort, rather than providing a crutch.

Lessons are offered in either Afrikaans or English, based on your preference.
